A man and his son were shot dead while three others injured seriously in a firing incident that took place outside the Ferozewala lower courts near Lahore on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to police, Sajjad Khan and his sons - Shahid Khan and Zia Khan were leaving the court after the hearing of a case when their rivals opened fire on them.

Resultantly, Sajjad Khan died on the spot while Shahid Khan and Zia Khan sustained critical injuries, and they were shifted to Mayo Hospital. Shahid Khan died on the way to the hospital.

Two other persons also sustained injuries in the firing incident.

Police said that Sajjad Khan and his sons were being tried in the court for the murder of a person belonging to the rival family that fired shots at them outside the Ferozewala lower courts.

It merits a mention here that firing incidents of this type have taken place many times in the Ferozewala courts due to poor security arrangements.
