Canada qualifies for T20 World Cup 2026 after convincing win over Bahamas

Canada has secured its place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over the Bahamas at the Maple Leaf Cricket Ground in Ontario, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

It became the 11th team to qualify for the 20-team event, alongside co-hosts India and Sri Lanka.

 The other qualified sides include Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand and Pakistan.

Seven more teams – two from Europe Qualifier (to be played from July 5–11, 2025), two from Africa Qualifier (to be played from September 19 – October 4, 2025) and three from Asia–EAP Qualifier (to be played from October 1–17, 2025) – will join the Men’s T20 World Cup through the Regional Qualifiers.

Canada made its debut in the men’s T20 World Cup in 2024, winning one of the four group stage matches against Ireland.
