Hotel lift crashes near UMT Lahore, worker seriously injured

A labourer sustained critical injuries after a hotel lift fell during maintenance work near the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday. 

According to the channel report, the incident sparked panic in the area as the lift suddenly crashed down while being repaired.

Police officials said the lift malfunctioned during maintenance and plummeted without warning. One worker was trapped beneath the collapsed lift and suffered serious injuries.

The injured labourer, whose identity remains unknown, was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.

Eyewitnesses and police confirmed that the hotel owner locked the premises and fled the scene following the accident.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the lift failure. Officials say the reasons behind the crash will be revealed once the inquiry concludes.
