Iran thanks Los Angeles for hospitality after gritty draw against Belgium

Iran’s national football team has thanked Los Angeles authorities and fans for their warm hospitality, leaving behind an emotional message in the stadium locker room following its World Cup match against Belgium, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

In the note, the Iranian squad said it had competed with honor and was leaving with dignity, expressing gratitude to supporters for the encouragement received during its two matches.

The message concluded with a call for peace, respect, and friendship among nations, reflecting the team’s appreciation for the welcome it received during the tournament.

Iran’s match against the Belgium national football team ended in a goalless draw, after which the team returned to Mexico.

Although Belgium enjoyed much of the possession and created the better scoring opportunities, Iran’s defense stood firm throughout the contest.

Goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand delivered a standout performance, making several crucial saves to deny the Belgian attack.
