A four-member ECP commission headed by ECP Punjab member Altaf Ibrahim Qureshi heard the PTI foreign funding case related to the provision of foreign accounts records to petitioner Akbar S Babar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

ECP Director General (Law) who is a Scrutiny Committee’s Chief said he was abiding by his order that he could not provide foreign accounts record to Akbar S. Babar. He maintained during the hearing that Akbar S. Babar has to prove his case himself.

He maintained Akbar S. Babar is not eligible to get the PTI documents. The Head of the Scrutiny Committee said he was about to issue an order.

Petitioner Akbar S. Babar requested the ECP to provide a record submitted by the PTI. The ECP Commission said that the full report of the scrutiny committee will come to them and then they will make a decision

PTI Finance Team maintained that they received the notification this morning.

On that, the ECP Commission said how it was possible for the finance team of the PTI not to be notified in this day and age.

Talking outside the ECP Islamabad with the media Akbar S Babar said proceedings of the ECP Scrutiny Committee were discussed before the ECP.

“We have requested that the record of PTI must be provided. The ECP has already said to the Scrutiny Committee that they disappointed ECP and the ECP has sought a reply from the Scrutiny Committee on the delay in the investigation of the PTI foreign funding case,” Akbar S Baber said.

He said he has no personal enmity against Imran Khan.

Separately, PML-N Spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb responding to Fawad Chaudhry's tweet demanded foreign funding case of 23 accounts of PTI must be brought to its logical conclusion.

Federal Science Minister Fawad Chaudhry said people are expecting NAB to bring the cases to a logical conclusion.

“It is disappointing to provide opportunities to the accused to set up theatres on a daily basis. If Sharif and Zardari are not corrupted people then Pakistan is a corruption-free country and what is the benefit of wasting the resources of the country,” Fawad said.
