Martyred Brig Barki’s funeral prayer offered in DI Khan
PM Shehbaz saddened by ISI officer Brig Barki’s martyrdom
The funeral prayer of martyred ISI officer Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki was offered in Dera Ismail Khan today which was attended by a large number of people including Army officers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Namaz-i-Janaza which was held at Besakhi Ground was also attended by Station Commander Brig Muhammad Rashid, RPO Abdul Ghafoor Afridi and DPO Abdur Rauf Qaisrani Baloch.
Tight security arrangements were made funeral prayer.
Brig Barki was martyred in a gunbattle with terrorists in South Waziristan on Tuesday. He left behind wife, a son and a daughter to mourn his death.
Soldiers laid to rest
Havildar Azhar Iqbal, Naik Mohammad Asad and Sepoy Essa of Pakistan Army who embraced shahadat during an operation in Saggu, Dera Ismail Khan were laid to rest with full military honours in Lodhran, Mian Channu and Bobar Ziarat, South Waziristan respectively.
The funeral and burial were attended by serving and retired military personnel, families and relatives of Shaheeds and a large number of people from various segments of the society.
Armed Forces of Pakistan and intelligence agencies stand resolute and determined to uproot the menace of terrorism at all costs.
These sacrifices reaffirm our resolve and strengthen our faith in fight against terrorism to provide a peaceful Pakistan to our coming generations.
PM Shehbaz expresses condolences
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed condolences over the martyrdom of senior ISI officer during an operation in South Waziristan District,.
In a tweet uploaded on Wednesday, the prime minister said he was deeply saddened by the martyrdom of ISI’s Brig Mustafa Kamal Barki and other soldiers.
“Over brave sons of the soil laid down their lives protecting the country from the enemy forces,” he wrote, adding “Terrorism will be uprooted as it is against the very idea of Pakistan.”
While leading the encounter from the front, Brig Barki embraced Shahadat while seven other personnel got injured, two of them critically.
Brig Barki and his team put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life for the peace of the motherland, the ISPR statement said.
The Defence Forces of Pakistan and Intelligence Agencies pledge to reaffirm and demonstrate firm resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of the country.
