Pakistani rupee surges against US dollar in interbank

The Pakistani rupee raised its margin of appreciation against the US dollar in the interbank market on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to information collected from forex dealers, the local currency which was gaining meagre value of few paisas everyday against the greenback, today went up by 30 paisas and was currently being traded at Rs278.10

On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee had registered a minor gain against the US dollar to settle at Rs278.40.

Pakistan had reportedly borrowed $6.678 billion from multiple financing sources during the first eight months (July-February) of the current fiscal year 2023-24 compared to $7.407 billion borrowed during the same period of 2022-23, revealed the Economic Affairs Division (EAD) data.
