Iran intentionally limits missile range to 2,000 Kilometers, says FM Araghchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has clarified that the country deliberately limits the range of its missiles to 2,000 kilometres, emphasising that Iran has no disputes with European civilians, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday. 

According to the report, speaking in a recent statement, Iran's FM Araghchi stressed that the restriction is intentional and underscores Iran’s commitment to a defensive military posture.

He explained that Iran’s missile programme is designed strictly for protecting national sovereignty and regional security, not for threatening territories far beyond its borders. 

This announcement comes amid ongoing international scrutiny over Iran’s missile development and military capabilities.

By capping the range, Iran aims to project a message that its strategic deterrence is focused on regional defence, rather than targeting global powers or civilian populations.

British nuclear submarine takes position in Arabian Sea 

On the other hand, a British nuclear-powered submarine has reportedly taken position in the Arabian Sea, escalating tensions in the region. 

According to British media reports, the vessel is armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, signaling a significant show of military capability amid growing hostilities.

In response, the Iranian military issued a stern warning, stating that all energy installations linked to US interests in the region could become targets.

Officials emphasised that any attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure would be met with a strong and proportionate response, underscoring the potential for a further escalation in the Arabian Gulf and surrounding waters.

The deployment of the British submarine comes as both Western and regional powers closely monitor developments, raising concerns over stability and the safety of critical maritime routes in the region.
