Gold prices take a big jump in Pakistan

Despite the decrease in the prices of yellow metal in the international market on Monday, the Pakistani jewels market witnessed a jump in gold prices as the rate of 24-karat pure gold has surged by Rs2,000 per tola.
According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24 karats of pure gold reached Rs2,37,300 per tola.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs1,714 to Rs2,03,446 per 10 grams in the local markets.
Rates of 10 grams of gold of 22 karats have also increased and traded at Rs1,86,493 per 10 grams on Monday.
Gold prices decreased by US$5 in the international market and traded at US$1,972 per ounce.
The rate of 24 karats fine silver also increased by Rs50 per tola to Rs2,900 per tola while the price of 24 karats silver of 10 grams increased by Rs42.87 to Rs2,486.28 per 10 grams.
