The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has issued a notification announcing a huge increase in 15 different cardiac stents prices, the 24NewsHD reported on Monday.

The DRAP increased the prices of the cardia stent following the recommendation of the National Price Fixation Committee for Life Saving medical devices.

After the notification, prices of cardiac stents of different brands were fixed up to Rs 134,000 per stent. 

The DRAP also increased the prices of other medicines from 20% to 70%. 

DRAP increased the prices due to pressure from pharmaceutical companies.
