Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Monday called on National Assembly (NA) Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf at Parliament House and both exchanged views on the overall economic and political situation of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The NA speaker appreciated the efforts of the finance minister and his team for economic stability, stating that political stability was necessary for economic stability.

“To strengthen the economy is indispensable for the development of the country. Despite the economic difficulties, reducing the prices of petroleum products is a good move,” he said.

Ishaq Dar thanked the NA speaker for his words of appreciation for the current economic team.

“The current government has inherited economic woes. All possible steps will be taken to provide relief to the public in the next financial budget,” he said.

“The current economic team has been working day and night to take the economy of the country on the path to development,” he added.
