Pakistan’s future is in safe hands, says Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz said on Thursday that the future of Pakistan was now in safe hands, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony in Sargodha, she said it was after going through lots of hardships that she became the CM of the province.

She claimed that ever since she had become the province’s chief minister, she had not taken a single leave. 

While referring to the PTI, she said, “Where are those who kept us in death cells?” 

She further said what happened on May 9 was unprecedented. “This is what our enemy India wants to do to us. Do you call fulfilling the enemy’s designs ‘freedom’?”

She said that the PML-N government would not hand stones and rifles to the nation, but pens and laptops. 

The chief minister asked the students to refrain from participating in the politics of agitation. 

“There is a need not to misuse the freedom of expression,” she asserted. 

Maryam went on to say that those very soldiers whose uniforms were desecrated won the nation a war against India. “I congratulate the armed forces, the government and the masses on a historic win against India.” 

The CM said she had approved the beautification and expansion of all cities of the province. “The Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology is in the final stages of its completion,” she said, adding, “The students have been handed the latest laptops.” 

Apart from that, she went on to say, a flyover was completed in Sargodha in just eight months.

Maryam announced that all schools in Punjab would be provided basic facilities. “The government will introduce the subject of artificial intelligence in the syllabus of primary schools.”
