17 died, 65 injured during Basant Festival 2026

As many as 17 people lost their lives, and ano0ther 65 were injured during the Basant Festival in Lahore earlier this year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a report submitted by the Punjab Home Department in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday, 12 people died after falling from roofs, three were dead due to electrocution, and two breathed their last after falling from tree.

The dead and injured persons included innocent children, women, and youngsters. 

The bloody rope caused deep wounds to the neck, nose, hands, jaw, and eyes. Bloody string caused deep wounds to the neck, nose, hands, jaw, and eyes.

Mohammad Ali, a resident of Shalimar, and Salman from Baghbanpura and Sabahat from Lal Pul died due to electrocution.

6-year-old Masoom Rehman and Zain from Green Town also died. Ammar 10, Arham 11, and Saim, and others also died due to a bloody string.
