Former federal minister Anwar Aziz Chaudhry passed away after a brief illness in Lahore. He was 89. He was father of PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz. 

His daughter-in-law Mehnaz Akber Aziz, who is an MNA, tweeted the news. The funeral prayers of Anwar Aziz Chaudhary will be offered tomorrow (Monday) in his native town in Shakargarh at 2pm. A large number of locals reached the residence of Anwar Ch. He was under treatment at a private hospital in Lahore.

Anwar Aziz Chaudhry joined politics in 1963. He served as a federal minister in prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s cabinet. He was a swimmer also. He competed in three events at the 1948 Summer Olympics.
