Call for removing sense of deprivation among provinces

Senior journalists and analysts have laid stress on removing the sense of deprivation among the small provinces.

The exploitation of small provinces must end, Salim Bokhari, Iftikhar Ahmad, PJ Mir and Javed Iqbal remarked during the 24NewsHD TV channel programme, DNA.

Referring to the speeches of Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and Taj Haider in the Asma Jehangir conference, Salim Bokhari pointed to turning a deaf year to the voice for rights from small provinces and doing nothing to remove the sense of deprivation from such federating units.

He said through the Asma Jehangir conference, delegates from small provinces were given an opportunity to present their issues to all. Javed Iqbal questioned as to why the establishment has been blamed for all ills though they are all part of the system.

To which Iftikhar Ahmed said that when basic rights were crushed and controlled democracy is imposed, such kinds of issues surface. Salim Bokhari too questioned why the people of Quetta get gas from Balochistan after years.

the interruption of Nawaz Sharif's speech at the conference and the tweet of Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry that allowing the fugitive to speak is an insult to the esteemed judges and a mockery of the constitution.

Salim Bokhari said that the Information Minister would have listened to the speech of his legal advisor Barrister Ali Zafar who has strongly criticized the accountability.

He also advocated freedom of expression. Corruption in the corona fund also came under discussion. According to the report, 26,000 people from Punjab, including 140 dead, were given corona and money from the zakat fund was distributed in various sectors in the name of the corona.
