Pakistan whitewash Bangladesh in T20 series

Pakistan Cricket Team defeated the Bangladesh Cricket Team by five wickets in hand in third and final T20 game in Dhaka National Stadium, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Haider Ali was the Man of the Match while Muhammad Rizwan was the Player of the Series

Pakistan Head Coach Saqlain Mushtaq in a post-match commentary said green shirts performed well on a 'strange' conditions contrary to the UAE pitches.

Muhammad Nawaz played the winning shot on the last ball of the T20 tournament and scored four runs. The nail-biting contest continued till last ball of the match as Bangladesh ballers brilliantly bowled in the death overs.

Bangladeshi batters made 124 runs losing seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs as the Pakistani bowlers restricted their stroke play in the third and final T20I match being played in Dhaka.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, the Bangladeshis set Pakistan a meagre target of 125 runs to clean sweep the series.

Some excellent death bowling by Pakistani bowlers restricted Bangladesh from playing big shots freely.

Shahnawaz Dahani got his first wicket in international cricket in his very first over, though, he was hit for a boundary off his debut ball, but on target with his fourth. Shahnawaz Dahani was congratulated by his team-mates after picking up the first wicket.

Bangladesh’s Mohammad Naeem top-scored from his side as he smashes 47 runs, but no Bangladeshi player had scored a fifty in this series.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss once again and decided to bat first yet again against Pakistan in third and final T20 match being played at Dhaka National Stadium.

Bangladeshi captain had won the toss in the first two matches also, decided to bat first and lost both the games to the visitors also. Adopting the same plan, the skipper yet again decided to put his batters to test first in the last and final T20 against Pakistan.

Though Pakistan had already won the series by winning the first two matches against the hosts, Bangladesh wanted to break the jinx of being ‘unsuccessful’ in the last seven matches including five from the ICC Men’s World Cup in UAE.

While, Babar-XI wanted to continue the momentum of winning performances in T20 matches on Bangladesh pitches.

PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja commented, “Pak vs Ban was a tough pitch to chase, and Pak’s batting got tested today. A lot easier to see off tough moments when you have wins behind you. Confidence is a great friend to have but it befriends you only if you are winning.”

Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah blamed his batsmen for not putting up a challenging score. He said, "I think a team like us need a set batter until the 15th over, we didn't do that. The boys are putting in a lot of effort at training, taking catches, doing all the things right but are missing chances," he said. "I think in the last five-six months, our bowling unit has been outstanding, both pace and spin department. It's the batting unit that has to deliver."
