In Karachi, car rider shoots dead cop in cold blood

A car rider shot dead a policeman in Defence Phase V area of Karachi between the night on Monday and Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The 24NewsHD TV got the CCTV footage of the incident in which it could be seen that the accused and the police official were riding in a car. Then they both got off the car and started arguing on something.
Both were holding pistols in their hands. The cop could be seen stopping the accused. Then the accused suddenly fired a shot at him, killing the police official on the spot.
After committing murder, the accused sat behind the wheel and drove the car past the dead cop lying on the road.
According to SSP South Asad Raza, the slain policeman identified as Abdur Rehman was deputed at Shaheen Force.
According to initial details, the accused wanted to kidnap a woman. At this point in time, the police official reached there. Taking this opportunity, the woman got off the car and escaped.
The police official wanted to take the accused to the police station for investigation. They sat in the car. But the accused did not want to go to the police station. Both dismounted the car and started arguing. The accused produced the gun from his car. The policeman asked him to hand over his weapon but the accused refused. Rather he pulled the trigger and shot at the cop. The injured policeman also shot back aiming at him but the bullet hit the car. The culprit sat in his car and sped away. Meanwhile, the cop died on the road.
Later, police today raided the house of the accused in Defence and confiscated the car used during the incident.
According to the SSP South, the police recovered 3 or 4 weapons from the confiscated car and there was likelihood that one of the pistols might have used in the incident.
The police investigation revealed that the accused had recently returned after completing his studies in Sweden.
The SSP South said police were conducting raids for the arrest of the killer.
The brother of the slain cop lamented that no senior police officials visited their house to condole the death of Abdur Rehman.
He said that Rehman was going to be married next month and for this purpose, he was constructing a beautiful room in his house.
