Actress Sarwat Gilani mentioned her relationship with senior Bollywood actress and model Parveen Babi in a latest interview with Ahmed Ali Butt on Super Over. Parveen Babi was one of the top Indian actresses and was known for her glamorous acting style. She was best known for her roles in Hindi films throughout the 1970s and early 1980s.

"Sarwat, your grandpa was the princely state Manavadar's leader. Why did he maintain quiet about it when he came to Pakistan? Had you been in India, you would have been a bigwig," Ahmed Ali Butt questioned Sarwat during the interview.

Sarwat responded, "Parveen Babi is my great aunt. It's true, I kept this a secret for around twenty years. I don't want to brag about it since I think individuals with such illustrious "Royal" backgrounds stay modest and don't want to show off about their Royal history."

Gilani's birthdate is December 22, 1982.  While Sarwat's paternal ancestor Ghulam Moinuddin Khanji was the Nawab of Manavadar and descended from Pashtuns, he also belonged to the Syed Gilani family.  In August 2014, she wed actor and cosmetic surgeon Fahad Mirza. 

In Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Gilani made her acting debut as a Pashtun woman opposite Vasay Chaudhary. Her first stage production as a director was Kiski Topi Kiskay Sar. Alongside Vasay Chaudhry, she reprised her role as Gul in the sequel to Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.
