IHC suspends FIA’s summon notice to Bushra Bibi
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday suspended a summon notice of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to former first lady and wife of PTI Chairman Bushra Bibi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The IHC issued a notice to the FIA and sought a reply.
The FIA had called Bushra Bibi for voice matching on Friday.
IHC Justice Babar Sattar heard the petition of Bushra Bibi.
Sardar Latif Khosa Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of Bushra Bibi.
Earlier, Bushra Bibi had submitted the petition challenging the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) investigation into the alleged audio leak case in Islamabad High Court.
In the petition, it was emphasized that the main case was already being heard in this court. The court had previously directed the FIA to proceed in accordance with the law during a hearing on September 18.
The petition further highlighted that the main case was scheduled for another hearing on October 30. Despite this ongoing legal process, the FIA had issued a summons notice on September 19.
Bushra Bibi, in her petition, implored that if the FIA continued its actions, it may infringe upon her rights. Therefore, she requested that the court suspend the FIA’s notice while the main case remained pending.
