Hollywood’s latest power couple, Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun, are making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

What began as a budding romance at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s $20 million wedding has quickly turned into a cultural flashpoint, with critics warning the pair could find themselves “cancelled” if their relationship continues to stir controversy.

Sweeney, best known for her Emmy-nominated performance in HBO’s Euphoria, was once hailed as Hollywood’s all-American golden girl.

Her acting talent, combined with major brand endorsements, made her a rising star.

Braun, meanwhile, built his empire managing the careers of global icons like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, and was once one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.

But both have faced very public falls from grace. For Sydney, the backlash began in 2022 when she posted pictures from her mother’s birthday party, where guests wore MAGA-inspired hats.

The controversy reignited last month after voter registration records revealed she had joined the Republican Party of Florida in 2024. Critics accused the actress of hiding conservative political leanings, sparking outrage from progressive fans.

Braun, on the other hand, has long been a target of Taylor Swift’s loyal fanbase. His 2019 acquisition of the masters to Swift’s first six albums for more than $300 million ignited one of the biggest feuds in modern music history.

Swift accused Braun of “incessant, manipulative bullying” and later re-recorded her albums to reclaim control of her work. Just this year, she reportedly spent $360 million to fully secure her music rights—cementing the animosity between the two camps.

Their new romance, which friends claim is “quickly becoming serious,” could not be more controversial. Sources say Braun recently joined Sweeney on a Lake Tahoe getaway, though he stayed out of her carefully curated Instagram posts.

Yet political differences could create further turbulence. Public records show Sweeney is registered Republican, while Braun is a committed Democrat who has hosted fundraisers for Hillary Clinton and endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024. He even mocked Donald Trump after the former president lashed out at Swift for supporting Harris.
