Pakistan heading towards Regulated Virtual Assets framework, says Aurangzeb
Minister emphasizes effective implementation of climate-related projects
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said on Tuesday that Pakistan was heading towards Regulated Virtual Assets’ framework and a comprehensive system was being shaped up for digital economy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking at the United Nations Digital Cooperation Day, 2026, the minister said that tokenization must be in harmony with real economic needs.
He stressed the need for the development of private sector through strong protective measures, comprehensive digital infrastructure and global cooperation.
He asserted that rising economies must be taken on board on shaping up global standards.
On the other hand, while expressing complete support for COP31’s action agenda, Aurangzeb said that the agenda was in harmony with Pakistan’s national climate priorities.
He stressed the need for an effective implementation of climate-related projects.
the finance minister emphasized Pakistan’s high exposure to climate risks and identified key areas of common focus, including clean energy and electrification, renewable energy development, energy-efficient buildings, climate-resilient urban development, climate education and public awareness, food security, and resilient agriculture.
