Maryam Nawaz to reach Karachi tomorrow for by-election campaign

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz will leave for Karachi Saturday to partake in by-election campaign, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Friday.
As per details, Capt. (R) Muhammad Safdar will accompany Maryam Nawaz. The PML-N vice president has decided on a short visit to Karachi due to the deteriorating pandemic situation.
The party leadership has already left for Karachi on Friday to complain about the NA-249 by-polls.
This will be Maryam Nawaz’s first show of power in the port city after falling out of the Pakistan Democratic Movement. Maryam is scheduled to address corner meetings and rallies ahead of the election which is scheduled on April 29. PML-N’s Miftah Ismail is contending the seat after it fell vacant due to PTI’s Faisal Vawda’s resignation, who quit the seat to avoid disqualification in a case regarding his dual citizenship.
PPP’s Qadir Mandokhail is facing Miftah Ismail on the seat. Earlier, PML-N made efforts to urge PPP to withdraw from the seat.
As per schedule, Maryam Nawaz will hold a press conference on Sunday before her return to Lahore.
PTI’s Amjad Afridi and Pak Sarzameen Party’s Mustafa Kamal are the important contenders for the seat.
