Former Pakistan captain and out-of-favour all-rounder Shoaib Malik Friday came down hard on Pakistan team management over an embarrassing loss at the hands of ZImbabawe in the second T20 in Harare.
Pakistan lost to ZImbabawe while chasing a meagre total of 118 runs and the whole team bundled out for just 19 runs on the penultimate ball of the match.
Pakistan’s middle-order again crumbled a trend that was witnessed in the series against South Africa as well.
Malik, whose inclusion in the middle-order was voiced by former captain Shahid Afridi after Pakistan’s loss to South Africa in the second T20 keeping in view this year’s world cup, took to Twitter to keep the management to the sword.
He said the captain Babar Azam and Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim should be given more authority to select the team and also called for an international; coach for the white ball cricket.
He also alleged that management relies only on likes and dislikes that have put Pakistan cricket to disarray.
“Unacquainted decision makers need to take a step back; Babar & chief selector need to call the shots. In my opinion we need an international white ball coach who understands cricket inside out & grooms our captain whilst giving clarity to our players for coming time... .when your management relies on likes & dislikes especially when your cricket is just in surviving mode, then what else do expect as a nation? On top of that when you don't let your captain take decisions this is bound to happen,” he wrote on Twitter.
