Seven people die as speeding bus rams into car in Jhelum

Seven people were killed when a speeding bus rammed into a car on the National Highway in Renala Khurd on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As per details, a speeding bus crashed into a car on the National Highway in Renala Khurd, smashing it and killing seven persons riding in it. 

The dead included three children, two women and two men. They were identified as Naveed, Sajid, Muzammil, Tehmina, Shamim, Anfal, and Isha. 

Six people died on the spot while another person was taken to hospital in critical condition where he breathed his last. 

The deceased family belonged to Lahore and was going to Jhelum to celebrate Eid holidays. 

The rescue officials and Motorway police rushed to the place of accident and got busy in rescue efforts. 

The dead bodies were handed over to the heirs after completing legal formalities.

The driver of the bus fled the scene. 

Two motorcycle riders die in Jhelum 

Separately, two teenage boys riding a motorcycle died when their two-wheeler fell into a pit on a road near an under construction bridge in Jhelum.

According to rescue officials, 18-year-old Ahmad and 19-year-old Asad were going home on their motorcycle last night. Due to darkness, the bike rider could not see the deep pit on the road created due to construction work and their motorcycle fell into it. 

One of the riders died on the spot while the other sustained critical injuries.

The injured was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

The rescue officials said that the bodies were handed to the heirs after completing necessary requirements.
