Three children have died after being electrocuted by high-voltage power lines at a house hosting a wedding in Hyderabad, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

According to the report, the incident occurred in the Tando Tayyab area within the jurisdiction of the Phuleli subdivision, where the children had travelled to attend a family wedding.

The police officials said the victims were sleeping on the rooftop of the house when they came into contact with live wires passing dangerously close to the building.

They said all three children died after receiving a severe electric shock. Police confirmed that two of the victims were real brothers.

The deceased were identified as 10-year-old Farhan, 14-year-old Abdul Rehman and 12-year-old Faraz, residents of Shahdadpur.

Authorities said the positioning of the high-tension wires near the rooftop appears to have caused the fatal incident.

An investigation has been launched to determine responsibility and assess whether safety regulations were breached.

The bodies were handed over to the families after necessary procedures, while officials indicated that further action would follow based on the findings of the inquiry.
