Pakistan sets up cell for safe evacuation of foreigners from Kabul

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday said Pakistan set up a special cell to ensure safe evacuation of foreigners from Kabul.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, he addressed a press conference in Islamabad and said Pakistan had already evacuated 500 people from Afghanistan through five flights of the national airline.
Qureshi told the media that Pakistan International Airline (PIA) had run five flights from Kabul to Islamabad to rescue people since August 16, 2021.
He said, for the assistance of the evacuated people and other inquiries, Pakistan had also established a special centre at the Islamabad Airport.
The foreign minister said they were facilitating the people on an urgent basis who were applying for Pakistani visas in Afghanistan.
He said the situation in Afghanistan was being changed every time and Pakistan was keenly watching it.
Qureshi said the foreign ministers of different countries including Denmark, Belgium and Sweden discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the evacuation of diplomatic staff.
The foreign minister said the leaders around the world had praised the positive role of Pakistan in the current Afghan crisis and evacuation of foreign people from Afghanistan.
