ECP postpones Local body elections in Hyderabad

The Election Commission of Pakistan Tuesday decided to postpone the second leg of the local government election in the Hyderabad division due to continued torrential rains and floods, reported 24 News HD TV Channel.
The election was postponed on the recommendation of the Provincial Election Commissioner and the District Administration of Hyderabad. The second phase of Sindh Local Government Elections was scheduled to be held in Hyderabad Division from August 28.
The Election Commission has also convened a meeting on August 24 to review the situation in Karachi Division. In the meeting, the situation of rains and floods will be reviewed and the final decision will be taken regarding the Karachi division.
