Police in Karachi on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two dacoits in an injured condition following two ‘encounters’ late Tuesday night, while people in North Nazimabad area of the city pounced upon two dacoits and thrashed them before handing them over to the police, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In an operation in Aligarh Society of Sohrab Goth, police arrested Imran alias Kurkurey, leader of an Afghan gang of criminals, while his three accomplices managed to flee from the spot.

It has been learnt that Kurkurey and his accomplices would rape women during robberies in people’s homes in the city’s posh areas, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Ferozeabad, Clifton and Defence Housing Authority.

Police said members of the gang would flee to Afghanistan after committing the crime.

Separately, police took into custody what it claimed a dacoit named Rao Shauqeen after an encounter near Sector 4 in North Karachi.

The Force said it had also recovered weapons and stolen goods from him.
