Barrister Sultan discusses Kashmir issue with congressman in New York: Urges America to mediate Kashmir conflict for global peace
President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, met with US Congressman Thomas Suozzi, Chairman of the Pakistan Caucus in Congress, at his office in New York, urging the United States to mediate the long-standing Kashmir dispute, reported 24NewsHD TV.
During the detailed discussion, President Sultan Mahmood stressed that peace in South Asia remains impossible without resolving the Kashmir conflict. He warned that Pakistan and India, both nuclear powers, are always at risk of escalation, and even a minor incident could lead to a catastrophic war with global consequences.
Highlighting the urgency of the issue, President Sultan reminded that former US President Bill Clinton had once declared Kashmir the “most dangerous region in the world.” He urged the international community, especially the US, to play an active role in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
