FIA uncovers human trafficking network after detaining woman deported from Saudi Arabia

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration authorities detained a woman upon her arrival in Karachi after she was deported from Saudi Arabia, launching what officials described as a major operation against a suspected human trafficking network.

According to FIA officials, the woman, identified as Gulshan Bibi, a resident of Bahawalpur, was intercepted during immigration clearance at the airport. A detailed inquiry subsequently revealed alleged links to an organised human trafficking ring.

During preliminary investigation, the woman reportedly confessed that she had travelled abroad with the assistance of an agent identified as Tayyab Ali Merajuddin, a resident of Faisalabad.

Officials said that upon reaching Saudi Arabia, she was allegedly handed over to a network comprising individuals identified as Zaini from Lahore, Haseeb from Okara, and Haji Allah Wasaya, stated to be residing in Saudi Arabia.

Authorities said the woman was deported after being arrested by local authorities in Saudi Arabia on charges related to immoral activities.

The accused has been taken into custody for further legal proceedings. FIA officials added that raid operations are under way to apprehend other facilitators allegedly involved in the trafficking network.

Director FIA Karachi Zone reiterated a policy of zero tolerance against human trafficking and vowed strict action against those found involved in exploiting vulnerable individuals through illegal means.
