Woman shot dead in alleged ‘honor’ killing in Arifwala; husband arrested

A man allegedly shot and killed his wife in the name of honour in a private housing society on Pakpattan Road in Arifwala, police said.

According to police officials, the accused opened fire on his wife, killing her on the spot. The victim was the mother of four daughters.

Police arrested the suspect along with the murder weapon shortly after the incident. The body of the deceased was taken into custody and shifted to hospital for postmortem examination.

Authorities said the accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is under way to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the killing.
