Khalid Butt, an international referee, a wrestler and a former national champion, died in Faisalabad on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Butt, who was also given the title of ‘Shere Pakistan’, was admitted to Allied Hospital yesterday (Saturday) due to a lungs problem.

But today his condition further deteriorated and he breathed his last. 

Office-bearers of the Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) and other people connected to the sport have expressed their deep sorrow over his death. 

They have paid tributes to him for not only winning laurels for the country, but also imparting training to the youth who are now representing the country.
