Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the 26th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) today as a part of his two-day official visit to Tashkent, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to spokesperson of the Foreign Office (FO) Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the theme of this year's conference is "Year of Strengthening Connections.”
Moreover, the foreign minister will hold separate bilateral meetings with the co-ministers of the member states and other dignitaries apart from the event.
It is pertinent to note that the Council of Ministers is the policy-making forum of the ECO which approves the organization’s decisions and annual work plan.
The 25th Council of Ministers was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in November 2021.
“As a founding member, Pakistan is committed to the ECO. Furthermore, it aims to promote effective regional cooperation with special focus on communication, trade, culture and connectivity,” said Foreign Office.
