Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif announced on Thursday that the much-awaited All Parties Conference (APC) will be held after Eidul Azha, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Opposition leader did not provide further details of the APC while talking to newsmen outside Lahore High Court (LHC).
Earlier, the Lahore High Court extended Shehbaz Sharif’s interim bail in assets beyond means and money laundering cases till August 17 while the bench hearing the case has also recused itself from hearing the interim bail case further.
The court has ordered to set the case hearing before another bench as Justice Chaudhry Sheram Sarwar stated that he could not conduct further hearing of the case because of links with the petitioner’s lawyer Azam Nazir Tarrar.
The TV channel reported that Azam Nazir Tarrar did not appear before the bench. Shehbaz Sharif’s bail application was heard in the Lahore High Court before a two-member bench comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Chaudhry Sheram Sarwar.
Shehbaz Sharif reached High Court Bar committee room where PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah and Deputy Lahore Mayor Rao Sahabuddin were also present.
Addressing the court, Shehbaz Sharif said he had himself come to Pakistan to attend the hearings of his case. He said “I am a cancer patient and have to go abroad for cancer treatment.”
He said, “I am an opposition leader in Pakistan. If they (NAB) need to ask me anything, they must ask now.”
Shehbaz Sharif said NAB told during the last hearing that investigations have been completed in his case. “I respect the courts, it was a unanimous opinion of me and the lawyers that I should appear before the court,” he added.
“The Supreme Court of Pakistan wrote a detailed decision on the case of Khawaja Brothers and I thank Allah Almighty on the bail given in the case of Khawaja Brothers,” the Opposition leader said.
