July 23, 2020 10:47 PM

Former prime minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has laid stress on praying to seek forgiveness from the Almighty to get rid of Covid-19.

Talking to PML-Q leaders Senator Kamil Ali Agha and Mian Imran Masood during a meeting on Thursday, Shujat urged continuing with taking protective steps to stem the spread of the deadly virus.

“The global outbreak created an atmosphere that made people keep a distance from family and friends so that they could be saved from contracting the virus. Seeking mercy of the Almighty is the need of the hour,” he said adding that no atomic power can overpower this virus. Such a situation raised the demand for creating national harmony but the political parties stick to their guns.

At the onset of pandemic outbreak, the seasoned politician also called upon the government to set aside political differences with opposition parties and step up joint efforts to contain Covid-19 but to no avail.

He added that the virus has made the Rs4 billion missile valueless and after some time it might be auctioned at the price of iron and the ironmongers can buy it at Rs400.
