90 fencing of Pak-Afghan border complete

July 23, 2021 05:26 PM

In view of changing regional situation, the security forces, as part of their mission to make country’s western border secure, have completed 90 percent fencing of the Pak-Afghan border, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The 24News TV channel has learned that 2,200-kilometer stretch of border with Afghanistan has been fenced so far.

The fencing which is 11 feet high and three feet wide has blocked the entry of terrorists into Pakistan.

Similarly, out of 834 forts situated in the bordering areas, construction of 554 has been completed while 73 additional wings of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) have been constituted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.

Likewise, forces are busy installing a radar system along the border to keep an eye on the infiltrators. Besides that they have put an end to all types of cross-border ‘unauthorised’ movement of people and goods. Trade has flourished while smuggling of goods is now a hard nut to crack.

Mules and choppers were used to transport material to the mountainous areas of Chitral for fencing of the Pak-Afghan border there.

Following 90 per cent fencing of the border, thankfully terrorist incidents are almost nil these days.
