Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expresses grief over the passing of Ameer-ul-Azeem, offers condolences to the family

Funeral prayer of JI Secretary General Ameer-ul-Azeem offered

The funeral prayer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Ameer-ul-Azeem was offered at Mansura in Lahore on Thursday which was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life. 

Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman led the funeral prayer. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Provincial Minister Sardar Ramesh Singh, and senior politician Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, JI Deputy Emirs Liaqat Baloch, Zia-ud-Din Ansari and deceased's brothers—Noor-ul-Azeem, Ashraf-ul-Azeem, and Asad-ul-Azeem—were present at the funeral. 

Former Punjab Governor Ch Mohammad Sarwar, Maulana Amjad Khan, Group Editor of Daily City 42 Naveed Chaudhry, Mubashir Lucman, Hafiz Idrees, Nazir Ahmed Janjua, Azhar Iqbal, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Farhan Shaukat, Aamir Anjum, and Nasir Ahmed, Qaiser Sharif, former MNA Waheed Alam Khan, and Salman Ghani attended the funeral prayer. Ameer-ul-Azeem was laid to rest at Canal View Society’s graveyard. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed deep grief over the passing of Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer-ul-Azeem.

Paying tribute to the deceased, he described the late Ameer-ul-Azeem as a visionary politician and said that his contributions to the field of politics would always be remembered. Offering his condolences, he expressed sympathies with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

The prime minister prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
