Maliha Rehman questions failure of Pakistani stars recognition at global stage
Journalist Maliha Rehman has questioned failure of Pakistani stars in recent YSL and Armani Beauty launch events in Lahore.
In her Instagram post, Maliha noted that although the events featured Hania Aamir, Sajal Aly and Hamza Sohail, the store opening were not given coverage on the brands official pages by YSL Beauty and Armani Beauty.
The post clarified that both brands are officially present in the country and that the stores will eventually appear on the global store locator but official images and videos of the events were still missing.
While there is no confirmation that they will be shared on the official YSL Beauty or Armani Beauty Instagram pages, they are expected to appear on L'Oreal Luxe's official social media platforms.
Rehman also wrote that while several celebrities and influencers looked glamorous, greater attention to the overall styling of attendees could have elevated the events further.
She concluded by expressing hope that Pakistani stars will receive greater recognition from global luxury brands in the future, recalling Mahira Khan's appearance at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival as the official spokesperson for L'Oreal Paris Pakistan Haircare as an example of the kind of international representation she hopes to see more often.
