461 people to cross over into India on June 28 after one year

June 24, 2021 05:42 AM

Good news for the Indians stranded in Pakistan for the last one year on account of the coronavirus as the government has decided to open the Pak-India border for a day following a decrease in the intensity of the pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Of 461 people, who will cross over into India on June 28 via the Wagah border, 405 are Indian citizens.

The Foreign Office has given instructions to the officials manning the border to make necessary arrangements for the purpose.

All people crossing the border will have to undergo a test for the coronavirus 72 hours before their departure.

However, the government has not made those returning to India bound to get vaccinated before crossing the border.

It is reminded here that hundreds of people were left stranded in both Pakistan and India after Pakistan closed its border with India a year ago after a surge in the cases of the coronavirus.
