The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday stopped the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to take action against Jahangir Tareen's sugar mills until the final decision on the case, reported 24News HD TV channel.
LHC Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the case on the application of Jahangir Tareen’s sugar mills.
JDW Sugar Mills’ lawyer Shehbaz Elahi argued that the FBR sent the notices to his client illegally. He said the FBR had violated article 10 by sending the notices. He pleaded with the court to declare the tax notices of FBR null and void.
Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza, while stopping the FBR to take action against JDW Sugar Mills until the final decision on the case, sent the application of the sugar mills to the board.
