Man forgets wife at motorway service area, reunited 20km later thanks to Motorway Police

In a bizarre incident, a man travelling from Gujranwala to Karachi accidentally left his wife behind at a motorway service area during a stop for prayers, only realising her absence 20 kilometres later, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

The incident took place on Motorway M3 at the Jaranwala service area, where the family had paused their journey for a brief prayer break. In a hurry to resume the trip, the husband drove off, completely unaware that his wife had not re-entered the vehicle.

It wasn’t until much further down the road that the man was struck by the realisation that his wife was missing. In a panic, he called the Motorway Police Helpline 130.

Acting swiftly, Motorway Police officers patrolling M3 located the distressed woman at the service area and assured her safety. She was found visibly shaken but unharmed, according to Syed Imran Ahmed, spokesperson for the Motorway Police.

Following necessary identification and verification procedures, the woman was safely reunited with her husband. The family later praised the professionalism and compassionate response of the Motorway Police.

Zonal Commander DIG Syed Farid Ali congratulated the officers involved for setting "an example of humanity and duty."
