President AJK chairs 56th Syndicate meeting of University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir

President Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Chancellor of the Universities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Monday chaired the 56th Syndicate meeting of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir at Aiwan-e-Sadr, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Addressing the meeting, the President directed Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nadeem Haider Bukhari and the university administration to make every possible effort to improve the quality of education.

Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry stressed that modern education is a basic requirement of the new era.

He said the research and teaching should be improved to raise the quality of education.

The Syndicate meeting was attended by Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Professor Dr. Nadeem Haider Bukhari; Secretary Presidential Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Idrees Abbasi; Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali; Secretary Higher Education, Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab; Representative of the Chairman Higher Education Commission, Asif Hussain; Representative of the Federal Secretary Education, Naseem Ahmed Khan; Representative of the Federal Secretary Finance, Ms. Tahira Mubeen; Former Director General of Health, Dr. Bashir Chaudhry; Former Chairman of the Board of Education, Chaudhry Muhammad Zaheer; Representative of the Vice Chancellor of Quaid-e-Azam University, Professor Dr. Tawasur Hayat; Registrar of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Professor Dr. Saadat Hanif Dar; and other members of the Syndicate.

The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also briefed the participants about the ongoing projects, administrative matters and challenges faced by the University.

At the end, the Search Committee also gave recommendations for the appointment of the permanent Vice Chancellor.
