Three injured in firing incident in Nowshera
Three persons received serious injuries when unidentified assailants opened fire on protesters who were staging a demonstration against Sui gas and WAPDA employees in Nowshera, reported 24NewsHDTV channel on Monday.
The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Aza Khel Police Station in Nowshera.
Later, all the attackers fled away from the scene. 24News attempted to contact the relevant DPO and SHO to gather their views on the incident, but all efforts went in vain.
Earlier on May 31, 2025, hundreds of residents from Nowshera Kalan took to the streets against the ongoing hours-long electricity loadshedding in the area.
Led by prominent social activist Muhammad Waleed Akhtar, the angry demonstrators blocked the Nowshera-Mardan Road on both sides, halting all kinds of traffic and disrupting the city’s daily routine.
The people from various neighbourhoods of Nowshera Kalan came out in large numbers, carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans such as “Down with unjust loadshedding.”
After blocking the main road, the protesters marched in a rally to the Peshawar Electric Supply Company office in Nowshera city, where they held a sit-in.
