Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Iranian president, discusses regional peace and stability

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Tuesday called on Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a meeting in which the two sides exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing peace initiatives, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During the meeting, President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan's constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and regional stability.

He acknowledged Islamabad's consistent efforts to encourage the peaceful resolution of disputes and strengthen understanding among regional stakeholders amid growing geopolitical challenges.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering commitment to peace and stability in the region and underscored the importance of dialogue and cooperation in addressing shared challenges.

The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and maintaining close consultations on issues of mutual interest.

According to the ISPR, both leaders expressed their shared resolve to advance peace, prosperity and stability across the region through continued cooperation and engagement.
