Kanwal Farooq breaks down recalling ‘painful marriage and divorce trauma’
Pakistani reality television personality and fashion influencer Kanwal Farooq became emotional while reflecting on her difficult past marriage, candidly sharing how the experience transformed her outlook on relationships and life.
During her recent appearance on the podcast ‘TeaOclock with Miraaj’, the social media figure opened up about her journey of healing, resilience, and self-discovery, recalling the sacrifices she made in her first marriage.
Speaking with tears in her eyes, Kanwal said, “What hurts me the most is that I married a man who, as people say, barely had enough money to afford food. People have no idea what I went through. Forget a small engagement ring, I didn't even receive a nose pin. My friends were bringing ring boxes from their homes, telling me to ask him or his family to at least present something in front of everyone. It was such a compromised marriage.”
She further revealed that the emotional wounds left by the relationship continue to affect her personal life.
“I compromised so much, and the trauma I experienced was so severe that even today I don't want anyone in my life. Even if I ever choose to be in a relationship again, I want stability because healing takes time,” she shared.
Reflecting on the hardships she endured, Kanwal stated that those experiences ultimately strengthened her faith and character.
“I've witnessed many difficult situations in life. You have to become strong, and these circumstances are what make you stronger. Just keep believing that ease comes after hardship. My faith in Allah became so strong that six months after the divorce, I saw him in handcuffs,” she added.
Her emotional confession resonated deeply with social media users, many of whom praised her courage and resilience.

One user commented, “May Allah heal her from things she doesn't talk about.”

Another wrote, “The moment you got emotional showed your humanity, and the smile that followed showed your strength. You are stronger than you know.”
A third admirer penned, “The way her voice breaks while talking about it is heartbreaking. It's hard to understand how one person can hurt another so deeply.”

Kanwal Farooq's heartfelt revelations have sparked conversations online about emotional healing, self-worth, and the long journey of recovering from a painful relationship.
