Khairpur court sentences kidnapper to life imprisonment

A court in Khairpur on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of kidnapping a young girl in a case registered six years ago.

The Fourth Additional Sessions Judge sentenced the accused Muhammad Ali Chohan to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs50,000.

The court ordered that in case of non-payment of the fine, the convict will have to undergo an additional one month of imprisonment.

According to court details, the case was registered at the A-Section Police Station on the complaint of the heirs of the victim, Farhana Talpur.

After the verdict, the court directed that the accused be transferred to Central Jail following his conviction.
