Punjab govt to establish Institute of Parliamentary Studies & Research
The Punjab government has decided to establish Punjab Institute of Parliamentary Studies and Research to inculcate in members of the Punjab Assembly (MPAs) parliamentary traditions, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
There will be sessions at the institute at which MPAs will be taught to make legislation effective.
As many as Rs60 million have been earmarked for the institute in the budget.
The project is expected to cost over Rs1.37 billion and it will be completed in the financial year, 2028-29.
Not everybody will be entitled to get admission in the institute as it is being established for MPAs and concerned officers for the time being.
The institute will be housed in two buildings of the People House Lahore, which are being renovated for the purpose.
