Sindh governor, CM make conflicting remarks on political situation

An interesting situation developed at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the eve of Pakistan Day on Wednesday when Sindh Governor Imran Ismael and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah both simultaneously reached there to pay their respects and made conflicting remarks on the current political situation of the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh governor, while referring to recent defections by some members of the National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to ruling PTI in a satirical tone, said that these were the days of reawakening of legislators’ conscience.   

Admitting that it was the right of PTI’s allied parties either to remain in the government or part ways with it, he said the opposition parties were in fact befooling the parties, part of the coalition government at Center. “Who will be to blame if democracy suffers because of political tensions?” he questioned.  

The governor claimed that the federal government would complete its five-year term. “President Arif Alvi will not take any unconstitutional step,” he said. 

He also dispelled the impression that the government had any differences with the MQM-P, adding that the PTI would even legislate to give protection to the party’s demands. 

Sindh CM asked the governor to rest assured that democracy in the country would not come to any harm. 

He expressed the hope that the no-trust motion tabled in the National Assembly (NA) against the government would be passed.
