Popular Pakistani musician and actor Haroon Shahid has raised many eyebrows with an ‘unbelievable’ revelation, claiming that he was told Bollywood’s top star Kareena Kapoor was first supposed to perform in Pakistani film ‘Verna’ instead of the lead of the film Mahira Khan. Seriously? Had Kareena really expressed consent for a Pakistani movie? Inquiring many Internet users with great wonder.

Anyhow, let's delve deep into the story!

Pakistani actor Haroon Shahid who has worked with superstar Mahira Khan in his very first movie ‘Verna’, became candid with host Nadia Khan during a Ramadan transmission where the man discussed his professional career associated with the music industry and his decision to shuffle the career to acting with first debut ‘Verna.’

However, the discussion took a ‘jaw-dropping’ turn when the actor deliberately revealed or probably ‘bragged’ that the film was originally offered to Indian star Kareena Kapoor but later replaced by Mahira Khan as Kareena was married and expecting a child at that time.

If it is hard to believe, here are the exact words the actor offered in the interview:

Haroon: Shoaib (director) has called me and Inquired if I am interested in performing in the film and I said okay. He said Kareen Kapoor is also a part of it.

Nadia with great shock: Who said this Kareen would be a part of it?

Haroon: Shoaib Sahib said this, actually Kareena Kapoor was supposed to do the film first, then she got married and was expecting. Then they brought Mahira into the film.

Some feedback is here:

In case the readers are not aware, Verna was directed by Shoaib Mansoor, and Haroon and Mahira were the leads of the film. The story revolves around the lead couple, whose life falls apart when the woman gets abducted and sexually harassed by a powerful politician in their area. But the woman does not give up easily and decides to fight back.

It is important to mention that as per a renowned media portal, back in 2015, reports went viral claiming that Kareena Kapoor was roped in for the Shoaib Mansoor directorial.

A report by India.com claimed that Kareena’s spokesperson had confirmed the same and even revealed that the Pakistani director had e-mailed her the concept of the film.

Later on, in 2016, the Indian actress rubbished off all such rumours and clearly stated that she was not doing any film in Pakistani.

As quoted by Indian Express, Kareena had said:

“That’s not true. I am not doing any Pakistani film.”
