Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Shafqat Ali Khan on Sunday said that March 23, 1940 reminded the nation of the day when the Muslims of the sub-continent had gathered at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore to determine their future, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his special message for the occasion, he said that the passage of the Pakistan resolution was a turning point in the struggle for the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
“On this day, let us renew our commitment to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s famous quotation, ‘Unity, faith and discipline’,” said the spokesman, adding, “While celebrating the day, let us remember the sacrifices given by our forefathers, which make us stand out among the nations.”
